Miley Cyrus flirts with Ariana mid-show causing her to miss cue

Miley Cyrus has been on a mission to share a closer glimpse of behind-the-scenes stories from her life through the new TikTok series Used to be Young. In a new video for the series, Miley shares how Ariana missed her ‘cue’ due to Miley flirting while the pair performed for Backyard Sessions in 2015.

Miley and Ariana were covering the Crowded House’s Don’t Dream It’s Over and Miley’s flirting made Ariana scared, the singer joked adding, “We were having fun.”

“She needs a friend”

While it is not known when exactly Miley and Ariana became friends, the singers took the stage together a few times together including when they performed Don’t Dream It’s Over for the “One Love Manchester” benefit concert in June 2017.

Gushing on her friendship with Ariana, the Party In The USA crooner had said in an interview, “I feel like she needs a friend, and I need a friend. And I would love to start that relationship more.”

Miley is also all about that real friendship that goes beyond the cameras as she shared on TV about Ariana: “She’s always been so great. It’s not about how many hours spent or how many inside jokes you have, but it’s about the real s–t.”

Miley and Ariana’s friendship deepened over the years as the duo ended up collaborating with Lana Del Rey for the song Don’t Call Me Angel as part of the 2019 Charlie’s Angels soundtrack.

Speaking about Ariana’s creative nature, Miley said in an interview, “She has always shared her experiences with this beautiful blend of reality and the fantasy that pop culture requires.”
