The Dirrty hitmaker turned heads during New York Fashion Week – and that’s a tough gig when the entire celebrity world is gracing the red carpet. Christina Aguilera‘s skintight illusion dress was talk of the town yesterday, with its form-fitting design. The music star joked she was ‘runway ready’ and fans couldn’t agree more.
Christina Aguilera’s skintight illusion dress caught attention
The gorgeous gown hugged the celebrity’s curves and covered her body from wrist to ankle. But it was still revealing with its neon, vibrant print.
It gave the impression of a naked woman who was obscured with painting and art over top.
The celebrity paired the frock with gold boots, bold red lips and rose-gold sunglasses with a strong tint. Her platinum hair was styled in tousled waves and cascaded down her back and over her shoulders. Nails were on point, with a soft manicure style, as well as rings to match. And who can ignore the metal clutch to top it all off?
The star visited Tribeca for one of the biggest fashion events of the year – and she didn’t disappoint. The colorful number is from Feben’s winter collection, which is a designer based in London.
She shared an image of her posing in the frock to her Instagram stories and playfully wrote she was ‘runway ready’.
Christina’s strict demand over MTV VMAs
It comes after news the star had a particular demand over the MTV VMAs.
In 2003, pop culture was sent into a frenzy when three idols graced the stage at the awards show. Britney Spears, Madonna and Christina performed a set before shocking viewers in the stadium and at home.
65-year-old Madonna and Britney locked lips on the stage, but what is often disregarded is that she then turned to kiss 42-year-old Christina. However, when it was being aired live, the camera quickly cut to get the reaction of Britney’s ex Justin Timberlake, who was in the audience. Therefore, Christina was forgotten. When people talk about the iconic moment from the event, she’s not often mentioned.
Van Toffler, who was the network president, told Rolling Stone that Christina and her team were furious. They argued her kiss with Madonna should be re-editing back in to the show if it was aired in the future.
He told the outlet: “[She] caused a little bit of grief coming my way … It didn’t make life easier that night, but you have to make choices in a live show.”
‘I guess I got left out’
The Moulin Rouge singer spoke out about the ordeal herself back in 2018. She told TV host Andy Cohen when she saw the newspapers the next day, she felt she “got left out of that one”.
But there wasn’t any hard feelings between Britney and Christina, both Disney Channel child stars. She said the Toxic hitmaker could “have” the kiss, because she sang Fighter with Dave Navarro on guitar.
The performance was a medley of hits from the Queen of Pop, Madonna. Dressed in black, Madonna appeared as a groom while lace-covered Christina and Britney represented brides.
